What Can I Do with a Minor in Actuarial Science?
Note: If you want to minor in Actuarial Science, you must consult with one of the Mathematics and Statistics faculty members in addition to being admitted to the university.
University Requirements

A minor is earned in conjunction with a bachelor's degree.
To receive a minor (18 to 24 units) at Northern Arizona University, you must complete a planned group of courses from one or more subject matter areas with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0. At least 12 units of the minor must be unique to that minor and not applied to any other minor.

Minor Requirements

Take the following 21 with a Grade of "C" or better:

A Mathematics major may earn a Minor in Actuarial Science, but at least half the credits (essentially 12 units) in the minor must be courses that are not used to fulfill the student's Mathematics Major requirements.
Students pursuing a career as an actuary are advised to take ECO 284 and ECO 285 as part of their liberal studies requirements.
