Careers

What Can I Do with a Minor in Astronomy?

Do you enjoy the view from a telescope and want to indulge your passion for astronomy while studying a different major? The science of astronomy uses the laws of physics to reveal the nature of celestial objects, and the skills you'll acquire through this minor will serve you well in any field. If you are an engineer or computer scientist and are interested in working at an observatory, this is the program for you.

Our program focuses on astrophysics and planetary science. You will be encouraged to think independently and will benefit from our proximity to world-class Lowell Observatory and the university's own new twenty-inch research-class telescope. If you want to search for planets outside the solar system, you'll receive the guidance needed at Northern Arizona University. Find your way to questions you haven't yet learned to ask.
