Purpose Statement

The Spanish language is a valuable tool for commerce and cultural connections since it is the official language of 20 countries. In addition, Spanish is the most common second language in the world, and bilingual employees are required at many workplaces. In the United States, more people speak Spanish than in Spain. The U. S. Census Bureau projects the Hispanic/Latino population will double in the next fifty years. Thus, obtaining a Spanish for Business certificate will be a strategic asset and a business advantage for students regardless of their majors, as it will prepare them to communicate in Spanish and will meet the linguistic needs of a growing percentage of Hispanic/Latino customers.
