What Can I Do with a Minor in Chemistry?

You choose a minor, with guidance from your advisor. The minor should complement your major and your personal academic goals. You may use the same course or courses to satisfy requirements in both a major and a minor as long as at least 50% of the units in the minor have a different prefix than the major. You may also use the same course or courses to meet both liberal studies and minor requirements as long as you meet all requirements for the minor.

University Requirements

  • A minor is earned in conjunction with a bachelor's degree.

To receive a minor (18 to 24 units) at Northern Arizona University, you must complete a planned group of courses from one or more subject matter areas with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0. At least 12 units of the minor must be unique to that minor and not applied to any other minor.
