In this interdisciplinary minor, students learn about the languages, literature, religion, mythology, philosophy, political history, art and cultural traditions of the Classical world while gaining linguistic and analytical skills that prepare well for careers in teaching, the social sciences, journalism, law, politics, business, computer science, bioscience and medicine.
This minor provides you with multiple opportunities to investigate the ideas and values that have proven fundamental to modern politics, art, philosophy, and more. With a classics minor, you will gain a complex understanding of this foundation along with analytical skills useful for careers in teaching, the social sciences, journalism, law, politics, business, computer science, bioscience and medicine.
A minor is earned in conjunction with a bachelor's degree.
To receive a minor (18 - 24 units) at Northern Arizona University, you must complete a planned group of courses from one or more subject matter areas with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0. At least 12 units of the minor must be unique to that minor and not applied to any other minor.
