The graduate certificate in Communication Studies provides an understanding of the breadth and history of the study of human communication, a survey of communication theories, and a range of coursework in specialized areas within the discipline. Students who complete this certificate will enhance their understanding of and ability to articulate the ways in which communication is affected by specific contexts, including but not limited to the interpersonal, organizational, and public communication contexts.
The graduate certificate in Communication Studies is designed for working professionals, community college instructors, and for graduate students in other programs who want to supplement their disciplinary studies with substantive, graduate-level coursework in communication.
