What Can I Do with a Minor in Geographic Science and Community Planning?

The study of geography begins with exploration of the physical environment and includes cultural, political, and social landscapes. People who can think spatially about where things are in relation to other things are highly sought after in both the public and private sectors. Adding a Geography minor to your major can help your resume stand out.

Here, you will delve into GIS data analysis and cartography, remote sensing, area studies, and other tools to help you understand the web of connections between earth and humankind. Flagstaff own physical and cultural geography, its location at the edge of the Colorado Plateau, coupled with its mix of ethnic roots (Native American, Latino, and western European) make this mountain town a perfect geography classroom.
