Careers

What Can I Do with a Minor in Merchandising?

What motivates consumers to spend on particular products? If you follow trends in fashion, decorating, architecture, or design, or want to work in retail, textiles, or a related field, adding a Merchandising minor will give you the skills to understand the vital links between buyers and sellers. You’ll graduate with a broad understanding of customer satisfaction in a rapidly changing retail world, as well as knowledge of products, consumer demand, market trends, and promotion.

A Merchandising minor gives you preparation for a career by developing competence in product analysis, buying, planning, controlling inventory, and targeting markets. Simply put, you’ll understand how to produce the right merchandise at the right time, in the right quantities, and at the right price.
