Department of Health Sciences

Physical Education, Minor

This minor provides training for physical-activity promotion in recreation settings outside of more formal K-12 school settings. Students completing this minor will be prepared to plan and deliver recreational physical activity programs.

What Can I Do with a Minor in Physical Education?

Most Americans don't get enough physical activity and as a result, the obesity epidemic worsens each year. Engaging in sufficient appropriate physical activity is critical to improving public health. If you're interested in helping people lead healthier lives, this minor will give you training for a career in recreational physical activity promotion. You'll take classes in nutrition, human disease, health behaviors, and planning and implementing health promotion.
