Teaching Science and Math
Description: This course examines the ways in which we have come to understand how science works. Students will examine work in the philosophy, history, and sociology of science as well as the science studies literature to develop understandings of the nature of science. Additionally, the course will examine pedagogies to enact nature of science understandings and scientific and engineering practices in the secondary science classroom. A specific focus will be on the effective use of writing to express our ideas about the ways in which science works. This course is intended to improve your writing skills. Letter grade only.
