Description: Course 1 of 2: foundations of human pathophysiology and pharmacology for nursing practice. Emphasis is on the knowledge base required for a safe, evidence-based practice of medication administration in nursing. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the interrelatedness of pathophysiology and pharmacokinetics related to medication administration including dosage calculations. Course 1 focuses on the pharmacokinetic principles and related pathophysiologic processes for specific medication categories and the body systems they affect. Letter grade only. Course fee required.
