ART 374 - New Media: Performance And The Body

Description: Studio Course. Performance art is a performance presented to an audience within a fine art context. Performance may be either scripted or unscripted, random or carefully orchestrated. It can be any situation that involves four basic elements: time, space, the performer's body, or presence in a medium, and a relationship between performer and audience. Students will create a series of work that engages with an audience through the use of their own body and actions merging Space and Time. Utilizing their interests and abilities in a variety of subjects and media, students in this course will create experiences that immerse the viewer in a sensory/intellectual/emotional experience. Letter grade only.
