Description: Course 2 of 2: foundations of human pathophysiology and pharmacology for nursing practice. Emphasis is on further expanding the knowledge base required for a safe, evidence-based practice of medication administration in nursing. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the interrelatedness of pathophysiology and pharmacokinetics related to medication administration including advanced dosage calculations. Course 2 focuses on applying the pharmacokinetic principles and knowledge of the pathophysiologic processes to the practice of medication administration for specific drug categories and body systems. Letter grade only. Course fee required.
