Students will gain intuitive and quantitative physical understanding of processes that are important in the geodynamical evolution of planetary bodies (planets, moons, other bodies). Topics such as stress and strain, flexure, heat transfer, gravity, fluid mechanics, and rheology will be quantitatively developed and evaluated in terms of observable effects on the Earth and other bodies in the Solar System. Co-convened with AST 565. Letter grade only.
