Description: American schools are complex social and political environments. Schools in a democratic society are called upon to engage transformative knowledge. This course seeks to develop democratically minded teacher candidates who are critically aware of the ideological and cultural complexities and contradictions represented in increasingly diverse schools and society. Letter grade only.
