DH 456 - Nutrition And Oral Health

Description: This course provides an in depth evaluation of the role different nutrients play in oral health. Students will apply Motivational Interviewing concepts to analyze a food diary for nutrient intake, communicate findings with patients, and assist a patient in setting nutrition goals. This course assimilates the Science and Applied Science distribution block through the application of scientific knowledge of biochemistry and oral anatomy. Students will be required to synthesize many aspects of knowledge gained from core courses to demonstrate proficiency in evidence-based practice. Letter grade only.
