DH 486 - Interprofessional Practice
Description: A core professional course designed to prepare the dental hygiene student to work with other health care professionals from different healthcare disciplines. Students will learn the values/ethics for interprofessional education, practice, roles and responsibilities, interprofessional communication, teams, and teamwork. This course will prepare and encourage future oral health professionals to evaluate and apply knowledge, evidenced-based practice, and skills in the clinical setting to augment, support, and contribute to client comprehensive healthcare, encourage increased knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of other disciplines, and to improve communication and collaboration among disciplines in future work settings. Letter grade only.
