Geographic Science and Community Planning
Description: This course focuses on examination of concepts, techniques, issues and applications of analytical cartography, interactive mapping, and scientific visualization of geographic data. The course introduces concepts and theories of geovisualization. A significant portion of the course is devoted to acquiring and developing specific technical skills related to particular software packages, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and others. Broadly, students will learn the art of data visualization, in terms of how to understand data as well as how to create powerful and effective communication using data. Letter grade only.
