NUR 606 - Strategic Systems Thinking


Description: This course was designed for nurses and healthcare professionals to a apply systems thinking approach to strategic planning and management in healthcare organizations. The course was developed after multiple conversations with nurse leaders throughout the country stressing the need for nurses and healthcare leaders to have use the systems thinking approach to strategic healthcare management and planning. The American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) Nurse Executive Leader Systems Thinking Competencies in communication and relationship building, knowledge of the health care environment, leadership, professionalism, business skills are linked to the course goals and assessments. This course is not exclusive to nurses and is open to healthcare professionals and others desiring to acquire these skills and economic principles in a systems approach to healthcare organizations. The course can be taken individually (non-degree seeking), as the first course in the Graduate Certificate in Strategic Systems Leadership, or the course can stack into the MS in Nursing Strategic Systems Leadership degree. Letter grade only.
