Description: This Transition to Practice & Applied Clinical Judgment course provides the learner with an opportunity to synthesize concepts presented throughout the curriculum and to begin the transition from student to professional nurse. Emphasis is placed on applying critical thinking, clinical judgment, and evidenced-based nursing practice. Advanced simulation experiences provide opportunities to demonstrate high quality nursing care, healthcare team coordination, and the oversight and accountability for care delivery to promote safety and quality in client care. Additionally, students will generate strategies for successful practice as a novice professional nurse. They will reflect on personal beliefs and responses to entering professional practice and the importance of personal accountability and selfcare. This course explores preparing for NCLEX success and licensure. Letter grade only.
