MRE 250 - Statics And Strength Of Materials
Description: Introduction to the theory and application of the statics and strength of materials fundamental topics. The course emphasizes the importance of satisfying equilibrium, compatibility of deformation, and material behavior requirements. A strong emphasis is placed on drawing a free-body diagram, the importance of selecting an appropriate coordinate system and an associated sign convention whenever the equations of mechanics are applied, as well as on the geometry of the deformed body and the observed relations between stress and strain, for the analysis of the force system action of a body. Letter grade only.
