Description: This course explores a variety of topics to improve cultural awareness and responsiveness in natural resources management. Designed for intensive self-reflection and understanding of different cultures and how personal bias or lack of inclusive education and understanding can translate to bias in professional decision-making in natural resources management. The course is designed with one module per week to allow students time to process information and think through how their lived experience affects the way they view certain topics. The course will include online discussions in both small groups and full class forum, mostly non-academic reading, and videos. By the end of this course, you will be prepared to engage, collaborate, and effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders in natural resources settings. Co-convened with FOR 464. Letter grade only.
