AIS 236 - Governments Of Indigenous Nations Of The United States

Description: This undergraduate elective provides an overview of the development of modern governments of Indigenous nations in the United States, their powers, the challenges they have faced, and the range of strategies they have developed to assert their sovereignty and self-determination in response to these challenges. We will study current news events and social media content to learn how Indigenous governments are working today to build Indigenous futures within the borders of the U.S. Cross-listed with POS 236 and SOC 236. Letter grade only.
