Description: Examines the contemporary public humanities, defined as the production of humanistic meanings in public contexts, from museum work, to oral historians, government and non-profit work, as well as engagement in a wide array of community-based projects. We will consider the ramifications of the digital humanities for the communication and preservation of culture and the impact of technology on the interpersonal interactions. Letter grade only. May be repeated for up to 15 units of credit.
