Description: This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the mechanics and mathematical analysis of the musculoskeletal system, the materials used in orthopedic applications, and control system modeling of biological tissues for use in orthopedic devices. Builds on fundamental concepts first introduced in Applied Mechanics Dynamics, Material Science, Mechanics of Materials and Differential Equations. Co-convened with ME 463. Cross-listed with BE 563.
