Description: Meets national standards leading to a Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, Level 1 Instructor Certification. Participants learn Leave No Trace skills, ethics, and techniques for educating others about low-impact practices for camping and traveling in outdoor environments as well as applying those strategies to daily life in front-country settings. Students completing this course will have opportunities to explore their own personal outdoor ethics while engaging with others in an outdoor environment and are prepared to offer Leave No Trace Skills Courses and Workshops to their community. Requires a multi-day backpacking field trip. Letter grade only.
