MST 361 - Digital Exhibition Design


Description: This course examines how museums, libraries, and archives employ digital technology in the areas of collection management and curation. Like the scholars and museum professionals who take what they study and apply it in the ¿field,¿ students in this course will apply the theories of museology discussed in the class and apply them in practice through the creation of a digital collection and exhibition designed for a public audience. As a result, students will learn to manage a digital exhibition project, develop a well-researched concept for the exhibit, create a digital collection with includes the arrangement and creation of data, research and write interpretative text, curate digital images of objects, use digital platforms successfully, and to present their exhibits at the end of the semester. Pass/Fail or Letter grade. May be repeated for up to 9 units of credit.
