Description: Applied Health Analytics provides students with essential knowledge and skills for working with healthcare data in clinical and public health settings. This course bridges the gap between technical analytics training and real-world healthcare practice by exploring healthcare data infrastructure, legal and ethical frameworks, communication strategies, and professional competencies needed in the rapidly evolving field of health analytics. Students will develop an understanding of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, healthcare data standards, regulatory compliance, and ethical considerations while building practical skills in data storytelling, visualization, and stakeholder communication. Through self-directed learning activities and applied projects, students will explore career pathways and develop strategies for continuous professional growth in health analytics. This course serves both the Applied Health Analytics Undergraduate Certificate and the AI in Health Graduate Certificate programs. Co-convened with HS 512. Letter grade only.
