Description: AI in Health is a graduate-level theory course examining the application, impact, and ethical implications of artificial intelligence across clinical and public health settings. Students will explore how AI technologies influence health outcomes at individual, community, and population levels through the lens of established public health frameworks. The course covers contemporary AI models used in health applications, bioethical considerations including equity and bias, data sovereignty issues, and the limitations of AI in health contexts. Students will develop skills in AI tool evaluation, effective communication with AI systems, and translating AI outputs for health audiences. The course culminates in a semester-long project where students identify a health challenge, conduct a comprehensive literature review, and develop a minimum viable AI-enabled product with appropriate documentation and implementation considerations. Letter grade only.
