AI 101 - Discovering Artificial Intelligence
Description: Introduces artificial intelligence as a transformative technology impacting how we work, learn, connect with others, and live. Without requiring a prior technical background, students discover foundational concepts, including machine learning, large language models, computer vision, and recommendation systems through hands-on activities. The course examines how AI systems operate within social and professional contexts, such as healthcare, education, media, criminal justice, politics, employment, and the environment, and building an understanding for how these technologies impact communities differently. Students develop practical skills for using AI tools effectively and responsibly, learning to evaluate AI-generated content and engage critically with AI. Letter grade only.
