AI 120 - Questioning Artificial Intelligence

Description: Examines ethical challenges as artificial intelligence (AI) intersects with social and professional contexts by questioning fundamental aspects of AI, such as algorithmic fairness, bias in machine learning systems, privacy and legal considerations of data-driven technologies, environmental implications in expanding AI uses, and the social responsibilities of AI developers and deployers. Through learning rooted in real-world case studies, students develop their ability to analyze complex ethical scenarios, evaluate competing perspectives on AI governance, and articulate reasoned and informed positions on controversial issues in the field. Letter grade only.
