Description: This course provides an in-depth introduction to the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training (AZ POST) requirements that govern law enforcement certification in the state. Students examine the legal, ethical, and professional foundations of policing in Arizona while developing essential competencies in criminal law, constitutional procedures, report writing, community engagement, and officer wellness. The course integrates classroom instruction with scenario-based learning to prepare students in areas such as defensive tactics, emergency response, and decision making under stress. Letter grade only.
