ENV 550 - Historical Ecology: Reconstructing Past Ecosystems


Description: Theories and methods in reconstructing terrestrial and aquatic biotic communities of the past, affected by climate change and human activities. Sources of information on ecological change include pollen analysis, paleobotany, lake levels, charcoal particles, sediments, and packrat middens. Special topics will concentrate on the record of human influence on landscapes. Letter grade only.
