Description: After World War II, the world's citizens were faced with very different lives, and many sought to make meaning of their existence. Filmmakers of this era presented cinematically and culturally significant narrative films of the post-WWII era in order to make sense of the postwar experience. In this course, students will view several classic postwar films exploring the thematic links and social illustrations among these films as well as the impact this genre of films had on the study of cinema. Letter grade only.
