JUS 247 - The Corrections Function
Description: This course will provide an introduction to the corrections systems in America. Focus will be placed on the historical development of the corrections system and its varied purposes; different types of offenders under correctional supervision; the continuum of available sanctions and their effectiveness; offender management within the institution, including classification strategies; and prisoner rights. Letter grade only.
