REL 361H - Religion And Violent Conflicts: From Torture To Genocide - Honors


Description: Violence is the assault on body and mind and inscribed into discourses of power. It is enforced and resisted by religions. We examine how violence affects the physical, gendered, racialized, religious, and collective body. We consider strategies and philosophies to counter violence. We critically examine intellectual, moral, and spiritual worldviews while analyzing specific arguments for their truth claims. Letter grade only.
