EES 580 - Climate Dynamics

Description: The Earth's climate system is the result of a spectacularly complex set of processes that redistribute energy and moisture on a spinning globe with variable geography. In this class we will develop a strong, conceptual understanding of natural climate dynamics, with a special focus on modes of variability in the climate system that explain most of the natural changes that occur from year-to-year and decade-to- decade (e.g., El Nino Southern Oscillation or the North Atlantic Oscillation). Letter grade only.
