COM 541 - Data Metaphors And Visualization
Description: Graphical displays of quantitative information take on many forms to help us understand and communicate both data and models. This course will serve to introduce students to the most common forms of scientific graphical displays (data metaphors), uses, and misuses. The class will also introduce principles of visual perception, color and design theory, and best practices for data metaphor development and visualization. Letter grade only.
