EE 402 - Wind Power Conversion

Description: Introduction to wind energy systems, power converters for wind turbines, wind energy system fundamentals, wind generators, power converters, fixed- and variable-speed induction generator based wind energy systems, doubly fed induction generator based wind turbines, synchronous generator based wind generation systems, control schemes, and transient and steady-state analysis. 2 hours lecture, 3 hours lab. Co-convened with EE 502. Letter grade only.
