ESE 573 - Advanced Positive Behavior Support

Description: The purpose of this course is to emphasize the philosophical assumptions that serve as the foundation for the science of behavior analysis, including the goals, basic tenants, and dimensions. Differences among behaviorism, radical behaviorism, and the experimental analysis of behavior will be discussed. Consideration will be given to variations in the protocol for identifying behavioral function, as well as to factors influencing the effectiveness of contingencies for changing behavior. Content includes teaching tactics for behavior skills training that make preferred behavior easier. Letter grade only.
