POS 539 - Homeland Security

Description: This class will explore the creation of the largest organization in the US government -- the Department of Homeland Security. This course covers the interplay between the federal, state, and local levels and how the largest agency of the US government handles policy issues within its purview. Using case studies of "homeland security crises," students will develop policy responses to the problems faced by federal, state, and local level officials to meet their respective agencies' objectives under the guise of a 'homeland security mission'.
