Program Information
PROGRAM INFORMATION
Students may use a maximum of 6 units of individualized coursework toward this Psychology Degree with prior written approval from a faculty advisor and the department chair in Psychology. Individualized coursework includes the following: PSY 408C (Field Work 1-12 units maximum), PSY 485 (Undergraduate Research 1-6 units maximum per term and a maximum total of 12 units), PSY 497 (Independent Study 1-6 units maximum) and PSY 466 (Legislative Internship 1-12 units maximum).
Students are strongly encouraged to meet with a faculty advisor to discuss career goals as early as possible in the academic career. This will allow students to take any necessary courses outside of Psychology curriculum to develop skills that might be helpful in the students proposed career.
All 41 units required for the major must be earned with a grade of "C" or higher. Of the 41 units required for this major, 15 units must be upper-division (300-400 level) courses. Individualized coursework may not be used to meet this 15-unit upper- division requirement. At least 15 units of the 41-unit major must be from courses offered by NAU not including individualized courses.
You are required to complete a Senior Capstone for your major. There are several capstones to choose from which may have specific pre-requisites. Discuss your choice with an academic advisor early in your academic career.

General Information
Progression Plans are intended to provide a general road map related to the sequencing of courses.
For a full description of degree requirements, review the Academic Catalog. To determine what requirements you may have already met through transfer credits, AP/IB courses, or test credits review your Academic Requirements, advisement report.
Some courses may have prerequisites and/or require appropriate placement scores in Mathematics and English. If you do not have the appropriate placement or prerequisite courses, you may have to take more courses than are presented on the Progression Plan.
Not all classes are offered every term so use caution when changing the sequencing of courses.
For further clarification, refer to the catalog (link provided at the top of this page) or speak with an academic advisor.
