Navajo Translation and Interpretation, Undergraduate Certificate

This is a non-degree certificate plan in Navajo translation and interpretation available if you are already proficient in Navajo and English. This certificate presents you with the opportunity to explore a specific area or discipline without the commitments associated with a four-year degree.
This plan will not be available to new students after Summer 2015

An undergraduate certificate may be earned as part of a bachelor's degree or as a stand-alone certificate.
To receive an undergraduate certificate (at least 15 units) at Northern Arizona University, you must complete a planned group of courses from one or more subject matter areas with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0.
In addition to University Requirements:
- Complete individual plan requirements.
Students may be able to use some courses to meet more than one requirement. Contact your advisor for details.

Individual program admission requirements over and above admission to NAU are required.

You must submit a letter of application and relevant transcripts to the plan director. You can be admitted if:
You have completed:- ENG 105 (or equivalent) (4 units)
If you do not meet these requirements, you may be admitted by passing a written and oral entrance exam, administered by the plan director.
Certificate Requirements
- Take the following 18 units with a Grade of "B" or better in each course:Finally, you may take lower-level NAV courses only if you have not already taken advanced NAV coursework. For instance, after you've completed 200-level NAV courses, you can't take NAV courses at the 100 level; after completing a 300-level courses you cannot take 100- or 200-level courses.
