This minor will provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to learn more about how to manage or start a small business. The competencies mastered in the minor are consistent with becoming a more effective and adaptable colleague in an existing small business.

A minor is earned in conjunction with a bachelor's degree.
To receive a minor (18 - 24 units) at Northern Arizona University, you must complete a planned group of courses from one or more subject matter areas with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0. At least 12 units of the minor must be unique to that minor and not applied to any other minor.
In addition to University Requirements:
- Complete individual plan requirements.
You may be able to use some courses to meet more than one requirement. Contact your faculty mentor for details.

Personalized Learning Competencies for the Minor in Small Business Administration (18 units)
Completion of these competencies will result in the awarding of credit for NAU classes.

C2. Examine the personal traits/behaviors associated with successful entrepreneurial performance
C3. Examine fundamental business concepts that affect business decision-making
C4. Explore concepts and strategies needed for career exploration, development for co-requisites for becoming a successful entrepreneur
C5. Investigate the concepts, systems, and strategies needed to acquire, motivate, develop, and terminate staff
