Student Learning Outcomes

• Knowledge Base in Law and Society.  Students should demonstrate fundamental acquisition and comprehension of the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, historical trends, and empirical findings in law based on social science research. 
• Scientific Inquiry and Critical Thinking. Students will develop scientific reasoning and problem-solving skills with broad approaches from the social sciences.
• Ethical and Social Responsibility.  Students will develop an appreciation for social problems, ethical responsibility in the approach to presenting alternatives solutions.
• Effective Writing and Oral Communication Skills. Students will be able to demonstrate competence in written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills that are appropriate for a larger public.  
• Professional Development. Students will emerge from the major with abilities that sharpen their readiness for law school and will understand the expectations of working effectively within the American legal culture.
