A minor is earned in conjunction with a bachelor's degree.
To receive a minor (18 - 24 units) at Northern Arizona University, you must complete a planned group of courses from one or more subject matter areas with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0. At least 12 units of the minor must be unique to that minor and not applied to any other minor.
In addition to University Requirements:
- Complete individual plan requirements.
Students may be able to use some courses to meet more than one requirement. Contact your advisor for details.
No more than fifty percent of the units used to satisfy minor requirements may be used to satisfy major requirements.

Minor Requirements

Take the following 22 - 24 units with a cumulative minimum GPA of 2.5 and a Grade of "C" or better in each course:
- EDU 305, EDU 312, EDU 313, EDU 314, EDU 315, EDU 316, EDU 436 (21 units)
- EDU 308 (1-3 units)
- EDU 436 (3 units)
Please be aware that as part of the BSEd, Elementary Education - Yuma degree, and in order to qualify for teacher certification, you are required to do 12 units of student teaching. To meet ADE requirements for both the Elementary Education certification and the Early Childhood Education endorsement, students who take the ECE minor will enroll in the following courses for the BSEd, Elementary Education - Yuma student teaching field experience:
