This minor is designed for students wishing to complement their major program of study with practical foundational principles in construction.

A minor is earned in conjunction with a bachelor's degree.
To receive a minor (18 - 24 units) at Northern Arizona University, you must complete a planned group of courses from one or more subject matter areas with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0. At least 12 units of the minor must be unique to that minor and not applied to any other minor.
In addition to University Requirements:
- Complete individual plan requirements.
Students may be able to use some courses to meet more than one requirement. Contact your advisor for details.
No more than fifty percent of the units used to satisfy minor requirements may be used to satisfy major requirements.

Purpose Statement
This minor in Construction Management is designed for students wishing to complement their major program of study with practical foundational principles in construction.
This Minor will provide students with an exposure to basic means, methods, materials, processes, teams and regulations associated with a construction project.
This minor will help prepare students from engineering, business, interior design, computer science and other allied fields to pursue careers in or related to the construction industry.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Understand the relationships between human culture and the built environment.
- Identify and explain basic methods, materials and equipment used to construct projects.
- Interpret construction documents.
- Apply the International Building Code to basic aspects of a construction project.
- Describe common project delivery methods and team compositions used on a construction projects.
