The Industrial Leadership Certificate trains current or aspiring leaders in the necessary skills to effectively lead in industrial workplaces. Courses focus on applying leadership theory to practice, project leadership techniques, using operations data for decision-making and personal leadership development. The Industrial Leadership Certificate stacks into the Industrial Leadership bachelor’s degree allowing students to earn their Industrial Leadership Certificate with an option to continue on for the degree.

To receive an undergraduate certificate (at least 15 units) at Northern Arizona University, you must complete a planned group of courses from one or more subject matter areas with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0.
Please be aware that federal financial aid is not available for some certificates, if the certificate is pursued and completed as a stand-alone certificate (i.e., not completed concurrently with a degree program). See the "Details" tab for additional information.

Purpose Statement
The purpose of the Industrial Leadership Certificate is to train current or aspiring leaders the necessary skills to effectively lead in industrial workplaces. The certificate program emphasizes leadership skill development with a focus on front-line leadership, creative problem-solving, project leadership and data-driven decision making for the industrial leader. At the completion of the certificate, students will be able to demonstrate accurate knowledge of industrial leadership practices including problem-solving and decision-making techniques as well as applying professional responsibility. With a focus on leadership skill development, students will prepare for a career or career advancement as an industrial workplace leader. The Industrial Leadership Certificate stacks into the Industrial Leadership bachelor’s degree allowing students to earn their certificate with an option to continue on for the degree.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Problem Solving: Apply techniques for problem-solving and decision-making in industrial workplace settings.
- Ethical Leadership: Identify ethical issues and apply the values of professional responsibility as an industrial leader.
Certificate Requirements

This certificate may be pursued and completed concurrently with a degree program or as a stand-alone certificate. Under both circumstances, federal financial aid can be used for this certificate.
