Exploring the power of enterprise systems can prepare students for advancement in these cross-functional umbrella systems that drive modern companies and institutions. Exposure to the underlying structure of core business processes (such as sales, accounting, finance, human resources, inventory and manufacturing), broaden possibilities for achievement in many sectors.

  • A certificate focuses on practical training and workforce skill development in a particular field.

    To receive an undergraduate certificate of 12 or more units at Northern Arizona University, you must complete a planned group of courses from one or more subject matter areas with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0. Approximately 75 percent of the credits must be earned through coursework at NAU (specific unit requirements may be found in the Details Tab).

    Federal financial aid may not be available for certain certificates when they are completed as standalone programs (i.e., not pursued at the same time as a degree). Refer to the 'Details' tab for more information.

In addition to University Requirements:

Students may be able to use some courses to meet more than one requirement. Contact your advisor for details.

Additional Admission Requirements

  • Individual program admission requirements over and above admission to NAU are required.

    • This certificate is available only for those students with the Business Professional Program milestone.
Certificate Requirements

  • Take the following 15 units with a minimum GPA of 2.0:

     

    If you are a CIS major, you may need to take an additional upper-division CIS course to complete the 6 units in the certificate that are not used in your major or any other academic plan.

  • This certificate may be pursued and completed concurrently with a degree program or as a stand-alone certificate. Federal financial aid cannot be used if the certificate is completed as a stand-alone certificate.

Additional Information

  • The FCB does not accept upper-division transfer credits from programs not accredited by the AACSB (such as the University of Phoenix or the Bachelor of Business Administration program at NAU).

    You must complete 50 percent, or 9 units, of certificate coursework that are not used in your major, minor, or other certificates, and you must complete at least 60 percent of certificate coursework at Northern Arizona University.
