Careers

What Can I Do with a Minor in Asian Studies?

Are you fascinated with Asian culture? Do you want to meld knowledge from Asian cultures with your primary field of study? Immerse yourself in our Asian Studies minor. You will create a specialized course of study, with help from an Asian Studies advisor, in three different disciplines. You will be offered courses in some of the most sought-after languages: Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, and Sanskrit languages.

You can include the study of an Asian language in your minor and receive credit for it; language skills will greatly strengthen your Asian Studies background. You'll explore Asian history, religions, art history, geography, and humanities. You will have the opportunity to participate in, and earn credits for, exchange programs. With the Asian Studies minor, you will gain a deeper knowledge of, and appreciation for, the cultures of Asia and the Middle East.

Note: To minor in Asian Studies, you must consult with one of the Asian Studies faculty members in addition to being admitted to the university.
